Oct 29, 2010

Included in the many event held each year by FIJET are the Annual World Congress, the Young Journalists Academy and meetings of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.

The 52nd FIJET World Congress was held in the exciting country of Turkey. The program was highlighted by stays in Istanbul and the resort area of Bodrum. Named the "European Capital of Culture" for 2010, Istanbul will mark the year with a series of activities and events throughout the year. It is truly fitting that the FIJET World Congress took place in this remarkable country during this same year.

The 53rd FIJET World Congress will be held in the beautiful and historic country of Romania. When making the official announcement during the Congress in Turkey, Mr. Eugen Curteanu, Secretary of state of the Ministry of regional development and Tourism in Romania noted that, under current plans, the event will incorporate many wonderful highlights, including a visit to Bucharest where we will visit Parliament Palace (currently, we are looking into the possibility of holding our Opening Ceremony and General Assembly in this remarkable and historic building), Sibiu where we will see the National Museum Complex, Sighisoara (Europe’s best preserved medieval town) and a trip to Bran Dracula’s Castle.
