53rd Congress Information
Nov 28, 2011

The next (54th) FIJET World Congress is Scheduled for Egypt in October. Further details will be provided as we get closer to the date. Meanwhile, here is some information about our last Congress in Romania.

The 53rd FIJET World Congress will be held in magnificent Romania during the month of September. The program will include some very special and exciting visits to the most important, romantic and exciting locations in this ancient and fascinating country.

The program began in Bucharest where delegates stayed at the beautiful Marriott Bucharest Hotel. The frist day brought the Opening Ceremony and General Assembly. Thanks to a very special arrangement with the government, those events were held at the Palace of the Parliament. This amazing building – said to be the largest government building in the world – is normally reserved for use by the government for official functions and the daily running of the government.

The next day we traveled to Bucovina where we saw the famouns monasteries of Humorlui and Voronet.

Other events included a trip on a vintage train, special hospitality at the Sucevita Monastery and a visit to Sighisoara – europe’s best-preserved medieval town.

For many, the highlight was a visit to Dracula’s Castle. The organizers say there may even be a visit by Dracula himself!

It should be noted that all journalist members of FIJET who attend a World Congress are required to write and publish at least one story about the Congress location.
